Lee decides that he should open the Eight Gates as well when Guy protects him from Indra's attack. Indra realizes that the shinobi are after his Horcrux and tells them that they will not be able to destroy his gunbai so easily. Shikamaru draws a blank and thinks that they can only rely on Tenmu's recovery. Tenmu asks the Shinju how long it will take to recover its full power and the Shinju explains that it needs more time if they want to maximize their power. Indra states that once he devours Tenmu, everything will be over and no one will be able to stand up to him. However, Naruto expresses that it won't be easy as shinobi surround Tenmu to protect him. Indra remembers back to the last war and tells Naruto that he is as stubborn as always. He tells him that it will be much painless for them if they just let him have Tenmu. However, Naruto states that there is no one in the alliance who will sacrifice Tenmu in order to save themselves. Tenji, Asuna, Ryozo, and Orihime surround Tenmu, repeating Naruto's sentiments, while reassuring Tenmu that they will protect him.
